“YES! Another strike! One more and I will have a turkey!” Melinda shrieked filled with excitement.
“Except we’ve been using bumpers the whole time,” Rick flirtatiously teased.
“Oh hush,” Melinda playfully rebutted.
This is Melinda and Rick’s second date. Even though it is only the second date, Melinda and Rick have indescribable chemistry. They could talk to each other forever about absolutely nothing and still believe that was the best conversation they had. The way they talk to each other makes it seem like they knew each other for years even though it has only been two months since they met. This young blooming love started off started when young, naïve Melinda started her first day at Starbucks.
Rick, who was hard-working, driven, polite, and personable, was one of the best employees at Starbucks. The manager told Rick that he would be showing a newbie the ropes.
Melinda, a little clumsy, came in the first day and stumbled over some chairs. This instantly caught Rick’s eyes. He chuckled, but was in awe how Melinda quirkily regained her balance and tried to play it cool after that embarrassing moment.
Finally, as Melinda maneuvered her way to the counter, smiled, and said, “I definitely know how to make an entrance. I’m Melinda, the new employee.”
Rick laughed and thought to himself, 'Not only does she have a cute smile, but she has a sense of humor.'
Rick replied, “Yeah, and you definitely know how to make a lasting impression. I’m Rick. I’ll be showing you the Starbucks’ ways.”
Melinda shadowed Rick all throughout the day. At first, they made some awkward, yet playful small talk. But, eventually they started to chit chat about the most random topics with such ease and comfort. They discovered they had quite a few things in common; actually, they had a lot in common.
After a few weeks of working together, Rick finally got the courage to ask Melinda her number. A few days later, he gathered enough courage to ask her out. Since then, the young love slowly has blossom and continues to do so.
side-note: sorry that this isn't as descriptive or elaborate as intended. I'm on a time crunch.
Nice story. I like how you started it out on their date and then went back to give the history or background behind the two.
ReplyDeleteIt works, reminds me of a long time ago haha minus the starbucks and add more awkwardness
ReplyDeleteWell, it's kind of hard to write a story if you have trouble getting into the characters. So not a bad job.
