Stumble Upon

Last week in my bio class, my friend showed me this site called "stumble upon", where you select your interest and then click " the "stumble" button, and then you are taken to sites of your interest. If you like the site, you click the "i like it" button and it will remember the site. And, if you don't like the site, you simply click the "stumble" button and it will take you to a new "stumbled upon" site.
Stumble upon is a fantastic invention. It's my new form of procrastination. And, I don't feel completely terrible procrastinating this way, because I learn new things ( http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2uKXuA/theoatmeal.com/comics/coffee )and facts instead of going on facebook and blowing up people's walls-don't get me wrong, I still blow up some people's walls, but now with stumbles I came across.
I know this isn't good (procrastinating through stumble); because at one point today, I stumbled upon this game. I played it and wasn't going to give up until I finished. Yeah, that definitely took a chunk of valuable time. ( try it at your own risk: http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/1KHNXl/www.nekogames.jp/mt/2008/01/cursor10.html )
But, then are times when I come across some really cool sites/things.

And, there are some funny sites/things I stumble upon.

Along with some cool art.

Even though the games I stumble upon take a good chunk of my time, I still love using stumble upon. It's pretty neat because you never come across the same thing and have something new each time; so, you never get bored. I've showed some of my friends and they enjoy using it whenever they get bored.
But, the only problem now is that I'm never bored and I'm innately opening up stumble upon whenever I open a browser. I am able to close the browser, but there are times where I tell myself, "you can stumble for 5 minutes".... that somehow turns into an hour or more... But, no worries. I will be able to overcome my stumbling ways, hopefully. And, if I have to, I'll just have to keep my internet unplugged when I do my homework, so I'm not tempted.

  1. That website has a lot of funny stuff. It's absolutely terrible for people who have problems procrastinating, hence why I try to stay away from it as much as possible. But if someone links something they "stumbled upon," I usually manage to waste a good chunk of time looking around on the site. Good stuff.

  2. This website is really cool. It has some neat and interesting items on it that are both funny and comical. Just another way to procrastinate from doing homework and studying for exams.
